Joy is a platform which helps to establish easier, more streamlined ways of working between the community and care sectors. This means information on local services from Devon Connect can be made available to view on the Joy ‘Marketplace’ to help social prescribers and other health and personalised care roles to refer patients to community-based services and activities that improve people's health and wellbeing.

Joy exists to add 10 years to life expectancy by addressing the social determinants of health. We know people don’t live in hospitals; they  live in communities. In fact, your postcode can have more impact on your health than your genetic code.

So what does this mean for you?

The Joy Marketplace is then used by social prescribers and other health and personalised care roles to signpost patients to local services and activities that could improve their health outcomes.

Here are some of the key benefits of being on Joy:

  • It’ll increase the visibility of your service amongst social prescribers and other health and personalised care roles across Devon, who can signpost to your service with a few clicks.
  • It’ll make it easier for community organisations to signpost to each other’s services, as well as to refer into other types of local support.
  • It’ll help showcase the contribution of local services to health improvements and feed into real-time reports used by Commissioners.
